Privacy Policy

HourSync (“HourSync”, “we”, “us”) is a Google Workspace™ add-on for Google Sheets™, developed and operated by Daniele Barbieri Luigi, an independent developer. This policy explains what data the add-on accesses, why, and the choices you have.

What the add-on does

HourSync imports your time-tracking data from Clockify into the Google Sheet you run it in. Optional Pro features add filters, per-project summaries, and a scheduled daily refresh.

Data we access, and why

Your Clockify API key. You paste it into the add-on yourself. It is stored using Google Apps Script’s Properties Service (user properties), which keeps it tied to your own Google account on Google’s infrastructure. We do not transmit or store your API key on any server we control. It is used only to call the Clockify API on your behalf to fetch your workspaces, projects and time entries.
Your Clockify time-tracking data. Time entries, project names, durations, start/end times and billable status fetched from Clockify are written into your Google Sheet, under your Google account. We do not copy this data to any server we control.
Your Google account email address. For Pro subscription verification only, the add-on sends your Google account email address to Stripe (our payment processor) to check whether an active HourSync Pro subscription exists for that email. No other Google profile information is accessed.
The active spreadsheet only. The add-on uses the spreadsheets.currentonly scope: it can access only the specific spreadsheet you open it in. It cannot see your other files in Google Drive.

OAuth scopes we request

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets.currentonly — read and write only the current spreadsheet.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.external_request — make requests to the Clockify and Stripe APIs.
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/userinfo.email — read your account email address, used solely to verify your Pro subscription with Stripe.

We deliberately do not request full Drive, Gmail, or full-Spreadsheet access.

Payment data

Pro subscriptions are processed by Stripe, Inc. Card and billing details are entered on Stripe’s own checkout page and handled by Stripe under Stripe’s privacy policy. We never see or store your full card details. We store only whether your email has an active subscription, cached temporarily to reduce lookups.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except:

Clockify (COING Inc.) — API calls made with your key, to fetch your own data.
Stripe, Inc. — your email address for subscription verification, and payment processing when you upgrade.
Google LLC — the add-on runs on Google’s platform and stores its settings there.

Data retention

Your API key and settings remain stored until you clear them in the add-on or uninstall it. Uninstalling the add-on removes its stored properties for your account. Any time data already written into your sheet stays in your sheet, under your control.

Your choices

Clear your Clockify API key at any time from within the add-on, or uninstall the add-on.
Revoke the add-on’s access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Cancel Pro at any time; your data remains yours.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date above reflects the current version.
